Siamese Cats - Care
Siamese cats require little grooming. They tend to keep themselves clean and well groomed. However, brushing or combing will do only good to these cats. This is a way to remove excess fur. Traditional Siamese do not shed excessively.
The cat's ears are a very important part of grooming. Exhibitors usually trim the inside of the ear to enhance the size. The longest hairs are removed. Often, long hairs on the belly, legs and flanks are also removed in order to emphasize the elegance of the breed.
Bathing is not a requirement, and many Siamese cats do not need a regular bath. Some males need to be bathed once a week. Breeders use a wide range of products in order to enhance the look of the coat. They are: professional grooming coat conditioners, special shampoos, brushes, and other things.
Siamese Cats - Training
These are very intelligent animals whose behavior can be controlled by proper training. The cats' nature should always be taken into consideration. They are possessive and territorial animals. Getting along with other pets can be a problem.
Cats are not as willing learners of the tricks as dogs. They are not easy to train. A Siamese cat will learn tricks if they are aware what reason they are doing the trick. Treats are basically what they are interested in. Therefore, the best time for Siamese cats to learn some trick is before feeding time.
